SPECTRUM Healthcare Career Forum

An exciting day called SPECTRUM is to make its debut on May 14 as professionals working in healthcare deliver an exciting, hands-on forum to interested students in Grades 10 to 12.

SPECTRUM takes place Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Huron County Health Unit Auditorium, Clinton from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The cost is $10 and snacks and lunch will be provided.

Pre-registration is required and students are encouraged to register online at or visit the guidance office. The deadline for registration is April 15.

Did You Know? (Community Involvement)

Students who volunteer to be a peer tutor earn hours towards their required community involvement.
Drop in to guidance if you are in grade 11 or 12 and would like to be a peer tutor.

Theatre Production Arts

    A hands-on, six-week summer course

    Learn all the skills required to create a stage set, mentored by seasoned professional artists from the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. 

    The six-week intensive learning program will involve a wide variety of skills used in theatre production arts, and offers practical training and experience. Students will:

        • acquire skills needed for apprenticeships, employment and eventual careers in theatre, film, television and digital media;

        • explore their creativity, under the guidance of professional artists who have spent a lifetime in theatre;

        • engage in the full, backstage-production process from design to set construction;

        • gain hands-on experience – from sculpting to mask-making to faux-food creation;

        • learn teamwork and problem-solving skills.

        Date: July 18 to August 26, 2011

        Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

        Cost: $990 includes materials
